Song of the Vigil

Elemental Mastery polearm that restores energy after reactions and grants an ATK bonus after Stellar Glimmer.

Released Aug 12, 2026

Song of the Vigil is a four-star polearm with Elemental Mastery. Consider it for a wielder who triggers Elemental Reactions for energy and can trigger Stellar Glimmer for the separate ATK increase; both effects can activate off-field.

Understand Song of the Vigil

Useful when…

  • Recovering some energy after the wielder triggers an Elemental Reaction.
  • Gaining ATK after triggering Stellar Glimmer, including while off-field.

What are the separate triggers?

Triggering an Elemental Reaction restores 4 Elemental Energy to the wielder at R1, with a nine-second cooldown. Separately, triggering a Stellar Glimmer reaction increases the wielder's ATK by 20% for 12 seconds. At R5, the energy restoration becomes 8 and the ATK bonus 40%; the cooldown and duration stay fixed. Both effects can trigger while the character is off-field.

When is it useful?

The two passive effects should be considered separately: an Elemental Reaction triggers the energy restoration, while Stellar Glimmer specifically triggers the ATK increase. The Elemental Mastery secondary stat can fit a reaction-focused wielder, but does not remove either trigger condition. The Catch has Energy Recharge and boosts Elemental Burst damage and Burst CRIT Rate. Ballad of the Fjords has CRIT Rate and grants Elemental Mastery only when the party includes at least three different Elemental Types. Beginner's Protector is a one-star polearm with no secondary stat or listed passive.

What investment improves the effects?

Ascension progresses through six stages. Refinement consumes a duplicate and raises the energy returned and the Stellar Glimmer ATK bonus. It does not alter the nine-second cooldown or 12-second duration. Ascension is level progression; consider refinement if the stronger values fit the wielder's reaction use and another copy is available for this purpose.

Which effect should not be conflated?

Not every Elemental Reaction grants the ATK bonus: that effect names Stellar Glimmer. Conversely, the energy restoration is described for triggering an Elemental Reaction generally, with a once-per-nine-second limit. Off-field triggering is explicitly allowed for both.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The energy and ATK effects use different reaction conditions.
  • Energy restoration is limited to once every nine seconds.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Assuming every Elemental Reaction triggers the Stellar Glimmer ATK bonus.
  • Ignoring the nine-second cap on energy restoration or conflating its trigger with the ATK effect.
