Xianyun GUIDE
Understand Xianyun
Useful when…
- Healing the party on Burst use and periodically during its duration.
- Supporting nearby active characters' Plunging Attacks with increased jump height and a capped shockwave damage increase.
- Using her Skill for a short aerial sequence, Anemo attacks, or movement.
Skill movement and plunge attack
White Clouds at Dawn enters Cloud Transmogrification and grants one immediate Skyladder use. Xianyun can use Skyladder in mid-air up to three times per state, leaping forward and damaging targets along her path; only one instance of Skyladder damage can hit a given opponent in that state. Her next Plunging Attack becomes Driftcloud Wave, an AoE Anemo attack counted as Plunging Attack damage, and its damage and area increase with each Skyladder use. If she does not use Driftcloud Wave, the next Skill cooldown is reduced by three seconds. She takes no Fall Damage during Cloud Transmogrification. The state can lapse if she does not use Skyladder again soon, so the skill is a brief sequence rather than unlimited aerial movement.
Burst healing and plunge support
Stars Gather at Dusk heals nearby characters based on Xianyun's ATK and summons Starwicker for 16 seconds at the listed level-one values. It begins with eight Adeptal Assistance stacks. While those stacks remain, nearby active characters gain increased jump height; when the active character completes a Plunging Attack, Starwicker spends one stack and deals AoE Anemo damage. Starwicker follows the active character and periodically heals nearby party members, while the initial Burst also heals nearby characters. Consider the Burst when both healing and repeated plunges are useful. Its listed Energy cost is 70.
Additional plunge effects and investment
Each opponent hit by Driftcloud Wave grants nearby party members one Storm Pinion stack for 20 seconds, up to four stacks; these increase Plunging Attack CRIT Rate by 4%, 6%, 8%, or 10% according to the stack count. While Starwicker still has Adeptal Assistance stacks, Xianyun's other passive increases nearby active characters' Plunging Attack shockwave damage by 200% of her ATK, capped at 9,000 additional damage per instance. Each instance can affect one opponent, and each character can trigger it once every 0.4 seconds. For plunge support and healing, Burst investment is directly relevant; Skill levels matter more if using her personal damage and Driftcloud Wave. Her Normal Attack track is a lower priority unless she uses those attacks. Ascension uses Vayuda Turquoise, Clearwater Jade, scrolls, and Cloudseam Scale at later stages.
Limits and common mistakes
Starwicker has eight plunge-triggered stacks, so the jump-height benefit and its plunge-triggered attacks are not unlimited. Plunge shockwave bonus damage is capped and cannot repeatedly affect the same character's attacks more often than once every 0.4 seconds; each damage instance can apply it to only one opponent. Driftcloud Wave can produce Storm Pinions only by hitting opponents, and each stack has its own duration. Her gliding-speed passive increases party gliding speed by 15% but does not stack with passives that provide the exact same effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Burst offers healing and plunge support but has a listed 70 Energy cost and finite Adeptal Assistance stacks.
- Using more Skill leaps strengthens Driftcloud Wave but takes time and can limit Skill reuse if the plunge is skipped.
- The Plunging Attack bonus is capped and applies to shockwave damage under stated trigger restrictions.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Starwicker's jump-height effect and plunge-triggered damage have unlimited stacks.
- Expecting Storm Pinion stacks when Driftcloud Wave does not hit an opponent.
- Treating the plunge bonus as unrestricted damage against every opponent.

White Clouds at Dawn · Elemental skill
Xianyun enters the Cloud Transmogrification state, in which she will not take Fall DMG, and uses Skyladder once.
In this state, her Plunging Attack will be converted into Driftcloud Wave instead, which deals AoE Anemo DMG and ends the Cloud Transmogrification state. This DMG is considered Plunging Attack DMG.
Each use of Skyladder while in this state increases the DMG and AoE of the next Driftcloud Wave used.
Skyladder
Can be used while in mid-air. Xianyun leaps forward, dealing Anemo DMG to targets along her path.
During each Cloud Transmogrification state Xianyun enters, Skyladder may be used up to 3 times and only 1 instance of Skyladder DMG can be dealt to any one opponent.
If Skyladder is not used again in a short period, the Cloud Transmogrification state will be canceled.
If Xianyun does not use Driftcloud Wave while in this state, the next CD of White Clouds at Dawn will be decreased by 3s.

Stars Gather at Dusk · Elemental burst
Brings forth a sacred breeze that deals AoE Anemo DMG and heals all nearby characters based on Xianyun's ATK. It will also summon the "Starwicker" mechanism.
Starwicker
·Continuously follows the active character and periodically heals all nearby party members based on Xianyun's ATK.
·Starts with 8 stacks of Adeptal Assistance. While Adeptal Assistance is active, nearby active characters in the party will have their jump height increased.
·When the active character completes a Plunging Attack, Starwicker will consume 1 stack of Adeptal Assistance and deal AoE Anemo DMG.
Only 1 Starwicker can exist simultaneously.

Galefeather Pursuit
Each opponent hit by Driftcloud Waves from White Clouds at Dawn will grant all nearby party members 1 stack of Storm Pinion for 20s. Max 4 stacks. These will cause the characters' Plunging Attack CRIT Rate to increase by 4%/6%/8%/10% respectively.
Each Storm Pinion created by hitting an opponent has an independent duration.
Consider, the Adeptus in Her Realm
When the Starwicker created by Stars Gather at Dusk has Adeptal Assistance stacks, nearby active characters' Plunging Attack shockwave DMG will be increased by 200% of Xianyun's ATK. The maximum DMG increase that can be achieved this way is 9,000.
Each Plunging Attack shockwave DMG instance can only apply this increased DMG effect to a single opponent. Each character can trigger this effect once every 0.4s.
Crane Form
Increases gliding SPD for your own party members by 15%.
Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.
