Understand Dr. Ratio
Useful when…
- Focus damage on a durable priority enemy while teammates maintain debuffs.
- Build around follow-up attacks triggered by his Skill and Ultimate mark.
How do his attacks and follow-ups work?
His Basic ATK and Skill hit one target. When he uses Skill, his Talent gives a 40% fixed chance to launch a follow-up attack; each debuff on that enemy adds 20 percentage points to that chance. The chance is therefore 40% plus 20 percentage points per debuff, with no cap specified in the supplied effect. If the target is defeated before the follow-up triggers, it instead targets one random enemy. His Ultimate deals single-target damage and applies Wiseman’s Folly. Teammates’ attacks against the marked target trigger one Talent follow-up each, up to two triggers; the mark applies only to the most recent Ultimate target, and its trigger count resets when he uses his Ultimate again.
When is he useful?
He suits encounters where you can concentrate attacks on one enemy and keep several debuffs on it. Debuffs raise the Talent’s follow-up chance, while teammate attacks against the Ultimate-marked target provide additional follow-up triggers. His Technique creates a brief dimension that taunts nearby enemies; entering battle with those enemies gives a 100% base chance to reduce each enemy’s SPD by 15% for two turns. Only one ally-created Dimension Effect can exist at a time. The Technique’s slow is an opening effect, not a reason to expect his single-target kit to cover groups efficiently.
What should you improve first?
Prioritize the Skill, Talent, and Ultimate because they directly support his main damage loop: Skill supplies frequent attacks and Talent follow-ups, while the Ultimate mark enables teammate-triggered follow-ups. Basic ATK is a lower priority for this plan. His bonus traces include ATK and CRIT Rate boosts; unlock them as their cost and prerequisites fit your investment. Character promotion supports overall progression. The listed example costs show that top trace levels require Credits, Arrow materials, Tracks of Destiny, and Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster, so reserve those resources for the abilities you rely on most.
What can limit his value?
His Talent follow-up is chance-based, and fewer debuffs mean fewer chances for it to occur. The Ultimate’s mark is restricted to its latest target, so attacks on other enemies do not trigger those marked-target follow-ups. If the Skill target dies before the Talent follow-up occurs, that hit can move to a random enemy. Aventurine shares the Imaginary element but is a Preservation character, so the available comparison identifies a different role rather than a direct damage substitute. Ratio’s mechanics.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Follow-up output depends on debuffs and target focus; the Ultimate mark does not cover multiple targets at once.
- Skill follow-ups have a fixed chance that increases with debuffs, so they are not guaranteed on every use.
- Technique’s SPD reduction has a base chance and applies when entering battle with affected enemies.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Attacking a different enemy from the one marked by Wiseman’s Folly and expecting the Ultimate-triggered follow-up.
- Assuming a Skill follow-up is guaranteed without accounting for the target’s debuffs.
- Treating the Technique’s slow as a sustained effect; it applies after entering battle with affected enemies.
