Understand Cruising in the Stellar Sea
Useful when…
- Wearers that benefit from CRIT Rate against targets across the full HP range.
- Encounters where the wearer can defeat enemies and use the brief ATK increase.
What does it provide?
It increases CRIT Rate, then adds an equal further CRIT Rate bonus against enemies whose HP percentage is 50% or lower. When the wearer defeats an enemy, ATK increases for two turns. The defeat bonus requires the wearer to get the defeat; it is not triggered by another ally’s defeat.
When is it useful?
The unconditional CRIT Rate is available throughout combat. The extra CRIT Rate applies only once the target reaches the stated HP threshold, and the ATK increase depends on the wearer defeating an enemy. It is therefore especially relevant when the wearer can both attack weakened targets and finish enemies, though neither condition is guaranteed.
How should it be improved?
Promotion raises the Light Cone’s level. Superimposition increases its CRIT Rate and the ATK gained after defeating an enemy. The listed superimposition steps use Superimposer (Custom-made). Consider promotion for base stats; weigh the added effect values against other uses of that upgrade material before pursuing higher superimposition.
What are the comparison points?
Arrows grants a larger opening CRIT Rate boost for three turns, then its effect ends. Adversarial gives SPD after the wearer defeats an enemy. Baptism of Pure Thought instead scales CRIT DMG with enemy debuffs and adds effects after an Ultimate attack. These provide different stats and triggers from Cruising’s HP-threshold CRIT Rate and defeat-triggered ATK.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The additional CRIT Rate requires the target to be at or below 50% HP.
- The ATK effect requires the wearer to defeat an enemy.
- Superimposition uses Superimposer (Custom-made).
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting the extra CRIT Rate above the 50% HP threshold.
- Counting an ally’s defeat as the wearer’s trigger.
