Sailing Towards a Second Life

The Hunt Light Cone for Break Effect, Break damage DEF ignore, and a conditional SPD bonus

Introduced in v2.2

Sailing Towards a Second Life grants Break Effect, lets the wearer’s Break damage ignore part of enemy DEF, and increases SPD when the wearer reaches a 150% Break Effect threshold in battle. Consider it for a Break-focused Hunt wearer who can meet that threshold.

Understand Sailing Towards a Second Life

Useful when…

  • A Hunt wearer built to deal Break damage.
  • A build that reaches at least 150% Break Effect in battle and can benefit from the SPD increase.

What does the passive require?

At S1, the Light Cone increases Break Effect by 60%. The wearer’s Break damage ignores 20% of the target’s DEF. If the wearer’s Break Effect in battle is at least 150%, their SPD increases by 12%. At S5, the listed Break Effect bonus is 100%, DEF ignore is 32%, and the conditional SPD increase is 20%. The threshold is an in-battle Break Effect requirement; the Light Cone’s own bonus contributes to that total.

Who can use these effects?

The strongest fit is a wearer whose damage plan uses Break damage and whose in-battle Break Effect reaches the threshold for SPD. Without the threshold, the Break Effect and Break damage DEF ignore still apply, but the SPD bonus does not. Baptism of Pure Thought instead builds CRIT DMG against debuffed targets and activates a separate effect after an Ultimate attack; it is a different damage pattern. The 3-star Adversarial grants SPD for 2 turns after the wearer defeats an enemy, while Arrows gives CRIT Rate at battle start for 3 turns. Neither uses this Light Cone’s Break conditions.

Is superimposition worthwhile?

Promotion advances the Light Cone through six stages. Superimposition uses one S1 copy for each step; it raises the Break Effect bonus and Break damage DEF ignore, while also increasing the SPD bonus at the same 150% threshold. Consider promotion for level growth and extra-copy investment when the wearer consistently deals Break damage and can reach the threshold.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The SPD increase applies only at 150% or more Break Effect in battle.
  • Its DEF ignore applies to Break damage, not all damage.
  • Superimposition consumes additional copies.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Counting the 150% threshold as a permanent base-stat requirement instead of checking Break Effect in battle.
  • Assuming the DEF ignore applies to the wearer’s non-Break damage.
