The Finale of a Lie GUIDE
Understand The Finale of a Lie
Useful when…
- Gain a three-turn ATK increase and increase enemy damage taken during Umbra Devourer.
- Use the CRIT Rate increase as a constant wearer stat.
Umbra Devourer triggers and values
The wearer gains 18% CRIT Rate at S1, up to 30% at S5. At battle start, the wearer gains Umbra Devourer for 3 turns. It is also gained for 3 turns for every 4 instances of Follow-Up ATK the wearer uses. While active, it increases the wearer’s ATK by 40% at S1, rising to 80% at S5, and increases all enemies’ DMG taken by 20% at S1, rising to 30% at S5. Effects of the same type cannot stack.
Practical uptime and fit
The opening activation is automatic at battle start; later activations depend on the wearer personally using four Follow-Up ATK instances. The effect is timed, so the Follow-Up condition matters if maintaining or reactivating the buff during combat. Its ATK increase benefits the wearer, while the increased damage taken is applied to all enemies during the effect.
Investment and alternatives
Promotion advances the Cone’s level with Credits and listed materials. Superimposition improves CRIT Rate, ATK, and enemy damage-taken values, while the four-instance Follow-Up threshold and three-turn duration stay fixed; shown steps consume duplicate copies. Adversarial grants Speed after the wearer defeats an enemy. Arrows gives a temporary CRIT Rate increase at battle start. Baptism of Pure Thought provides CRIT DMG and has additional conditions involving enemy debuffs and an attacking Ultimate. Each has different triggers and benefits.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Follow-Up refresh condition requires four Follow-Up ATK instances by the wearer.
- The ATK and enemy damage-taken benefits are active only while Umbra Devourer lasts.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Counting allies’ Follow-Up ATKs toward the four-instance trigger; the effect specifies instances the wearer uses.
- Treating the battle-start activation as permanent; Umbra Devourer lasts three turns.
