Understand Hunter of Glacial Forest
Useful when…
- Use two pieces for the Ice DMG bonus on an Ice damage wearer.
- Use four pieces when the wearer deals relevant damage during the two turns after their Ultimate.
How do the effects activate?
Two pieces increase Ice DMG by 10%. With four pieces, using the wearer's Ultimate increases their CRIT DMG by 25% for 2 turns. The CRIT DMG effect is conditional on Ultimate use and has a stated duration; the two-piece Ice bonus does not have that trigger.
When is the timing useful?
The set is most relevant when the wearer deals damage after using their Ultimate, while the CRIT DMG increase is active. A wearer with infrequent Ultimate use, or whose important damage falls outside that window, may not gain as much from the four-piece bonus. The Ice DMG bonus remains the straightforward two-piece benefit.
What alternatives emphasize?
As Navigator Isee Sees It increases Skill and Ultimate damage after combat entry or Skill use, stacking up to three times and losing a stack at turn start or after Ultimate. The Wind-Soaring Valorous pairs ATK and CRIT Rate with an Ultimate damage increase triggered by a Follow-Up ATK. These effects differ from Hunter's Ice-specific bonus and CRIT DMG window; compare the wearer's damage type, attack mode, and trigger access.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The four-piece CRIT DMG increase only follows the wearer's Ultimate and lasts 2 turns.
- The set's damage-type bonus is specific to Ice damage.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Counting on the CRIT DMG effect before the wearer uses an Ultimate.
- Assuming the Ice DMG bonus increases non-Ice damage.
