Magma Will and party Shields

The Talent grants one Magma Will when the Trailblazer is hit, up to eight stacks. At four or more stacks, the Basic ATK becomes enhanced and consumes four stacks to hit the chosen enemy and adjacent enemies. After using a Basic ATK, Skill, or Ultimate, the Talent applies a Shield to all allies for two turns, absorbing damage equal to 4% of DEF plus 20. An enhanced Basic ATK is still a Basic ATK and uses this Shield trigger.

Skill and Ultimate

Ever-Burning Amber reduces the Trailblazer’s damage taken by 40%, grants one Magma Will, and has a 100% base chance to Taunt all enemies for one turn. This is a base chance, not a guaranteed effective Taunt against every enemy. The Ultimate deals Fire damage to all enemies using ATK and DEF scaling, then automatically enhances the next Basic ATK without spending Magma Will.

Progression and Technique

The Talent’s Shield scales with DEF, and DEF trace boosts are available. Skill levels support damage reduction and Taunt; Ultimate levels support its area hit and enhanced follow-up Basic ATK. After using Call of the Guardian, the Trailblazer gains a personal Shield at the start of the next battle. It is separate from the Talent’s party Shield.

Limitations and tradeoffs

Shield strength scales with DEF, while listed attacks also use ATK or mixed ATK and DEF scaling.
The Skill’s Taunt has a base chance and lasts one turn.

Common mistakes to avoid

Treating the Skill’s Taunt base chance as a guarantee against every enemy.
Assuming the enhanced Basic ATK changes the Talent’s Shield trigger.
Confusing the Technique’s personal Shield with the Talent’s party Shield.
