Mystery Goo™ Containment Unit
The Mystery Goo unit is an experiment part; the tutorial says observations can be transmitted or recovered for study, with recovery yielding more Science.
How it works
The technology tree lists the unit in Start, the initial node. The Science mode tutorial says Goo can be observed in locations already visited and that recovering it for study yields more Science than transmitting observations. It also says many experiments, including Mystery Goo, can only be performed once per component, so multiple containers can carry multiple samples on one trip.
When it helps
If collecting more Science from Goo is the goal described by the tutorial, recovery is stated to yield more than transmission.
