Passive point allocation

Passive points unlock connected nodes on the shared tree, letting characters choose stat effects as they progress.

How it works

The source says points come from leveling or completing certain quests. A point permits allocation of a node connected to another already allocated node. All classes use the same tree but begin in different places, so their starting positions affect routes through it. The source lists a possible 99 points from levels, 23 from quests, and an optional point tied to the Bandit quest.

Read the supporting references

A source-bounded reference to Path of Exile’s passive skill tree, passive allocation and refunds, jewels and jewel interactions, and active skill gems. The sources do not provide a supported list of specific active gem choices or their effects, so this reference focuses on named passive-tree structures and jewel interactions. Guidance explains the referenced mechanics; it is not a tested damage ranking. Check the stated edition and source version before applying a patch-specific detail.
