Understand Abundant Mutation
Useful when…
- A Nidus build that values holding more Mutation stacks.
- Planning around Undying’s stated 30-second cooldown.
What changes?
The augment increases Nidus’s maximum Mutation stacks by an additional amount: 150 at rank 0, 250 at rank 2, and 300 at rank 3. It also sets Undying to a 30-second cooldown at each listed rank. The stack increase is storage capacity; the listed effect does not say it grants stacks automatically.
When to consider it
The extra capacity is relevant when your Nidus play can build and use Mutation beyond the ordinary capacity. The cooldown is relevant to survival planning: do not assume Undying can be triggered repeatedly without waiting. The input does not specify additional conditions or cooldown behavior beyond the stated 30 seconds.
Rank and slot investment
This Rare, rank 3 Nidus mod has Zenurik polarity and base drain 6. Listed rank costs are 30, 60, and 120 Endo and 1,449, 2,898, and 5,796 credits for successive ranks. Rank 0 already adds 150 maximum stacks and includes the stated cooldown; ranks 2 and 3 increase the added capacity, with rank 3 reaching 300. Weigh that increase against other uses for the standard mod slot and capacity.
Different Nidus augment goals
The compared augments address other mechanics: Insatiable can grant additional Mutation stacks while Nidus is in the infestation; Parasitic Vitality adds maximum Health to Nidus and a linked ally per Mutation during Parasitic Link; Larva Burst detonates Larva for Toxin damage based on enemies grabbed. Those effects do not increase maximum Mutation capacity in the way Abundant Mutation does.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The added maximum stacks are capacity, not a stated source of new stacks.
- The augment uses a standard mod slot and has base drain 6.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the extra maximum stacks are granted immediately.
- Overlooking the 30-second Undying cooldown when relying on the passive.
