Understand Accelerated Blast
Useful when…
- Adding both Fire Rate and Puncture to a compatible shotgun.
- A shotgun setup that can use the extra firing speed without preferring a different damage or critical-chance tradeoff.
What does it add?
At rank 0 it gives +15% Fire Rate and +15% Puncture; at rank 2, +45% of each; at rank 3, +60% of each. Fire Rate changes how quickly the weapon fires, while Puncture is the added damage type. These listed mod bonuses do not by themselves establish final damage or overall performance.
Compatibility and slot
The mod is for shotguns, has Madurai polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. It is a standard mod, not an Exilus slot item. The supplied compatibility information names shotguns as its equipment type and lists no named incompatible weapons.
How to invest in ranks
Successive listed upgrades cost 30, 60, and 120 Endo, plus 1,449, 2,898, and 5,796 credits. The rank 0 effect is half the rank 3 bonus for both stats. Rank it according to how much of the paired bonus you need and the Endo and capacity available; the final upgrade raises both bonuses to 60%.
Compare the tradeoffs
Amalgam Shotgun Barrage offers +85% Fire Rate and +45% revive speed, without a listed Puncture bonus. Critical Deceleration instead gives +200% Critical Chance and -20% Fire Rate. Flawed Shotgun Barrage gives +40% Fire Rate only and is identified as a Flawed variant. These candidates have different stat packages and do not automatically replace a paired Fire Rate and Puncture mod.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Combines useful Fire Rate with a specific Puncture bonus, so the paired stats may not match every shotgun build.
- Base drain is 6 and it occupies a standard mod slot.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Reading +60% Puncture as a guaranteed 60% increase to final weapon damage.
- Installing it on equipment outside the shotgun category.
