Understand Aerial Prospectus
Useful when…
- Add a ranged area strike to a Hound’s precept setup.
- Improve its target reach, damage, and strike radius by ranking it.
Strike effect
The Hound launches a beacon at an enemy within 12 m at rank 0 or 27 m at rank 5. The beacon calls down an Orbital Strike dealing 200 Blast damage in a 2 m radius at rank 0, rising to 1,200 damage in a 7 m radius at rank 5. The supplied effect describes the strike and area but does not specify its firing cadence or other targeting rules.
Hound fit and alternatives
This is a Hound-only precept with Penjaga polarity and zero base drain. It is incompatible with Focused Prospectus and Synergized Prospectus, so those cannot be equipped alongside it. Focused Prospectus fires a Heat beam that deals damage over time; Synergized Prospectus sends a seeking Electricity spark that can ricochet. Choose the distinct attack behavior that suits the setup, rather than assuming all Prospectus precepts can be combined.
Rank and costs
Aerial Prospectus has five ranks. Ranking improves three listed values: target reach, Blast damage, and radius. The example cost for rank 0 to 1 is 30 Endo and 1,449 credits; rank 2 to 3 costs 120 Endo and 5,796 credits, and rank 4 to 5 costs 480 Endo and 23,184 credits. Prioritize ranks if you want the longer reach and larger strike area; its base drain is already zero, but fusion still takes resources.
Limitations
The target must be within the listed reach, and the strike has a finite radius. It is a precept effect for Hounds, not a general weapon mod. Do not overlook the named incompatibilities when planning the Hound’s precepts.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The strike targets enemies only within its rank-dependent reach.
- Cannot be equipped with Focused Prospectus or Synergized Prospectus.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Trying to equip it with Focused Prospectus or Synergized Prospectus.
- Treating its radius damage as unlimited-range targeting.
