Understand Augur Seeker
Useful when…
- Extend the duration of status effects from a Pistol.
- Compare a pure duration bonus with options that add Slash damage, status chance, or an aiming condition.
Effect and fit
At maximum rank, Augur Seeker adds +90% Status Duration. It is a standard Pistol mod with Madurai polarity and base drain 2. Its listed effect changes duration, not the chance to apply a status effect.
Rank choices
It has ranks 0–5: +15% duration at rank 0, +60% at rank 3, and +90% at rank 5. The final listed rank step costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits. A lower rank can preserve capacity and fusion resources while still providing a duration bonus.
Alternatives with different effects
Perpetual Agony also lists +90% Status Duration, but has base drain 6. Carnis Stinger lists +90% Slash and +60% Status Chance rather than duration. Embedded Catalyzer grants +90% Status Chance when aiming for 9 seconds after an Ability Cast, so its bonus has both a trigger and an aiming condition. These are distinct effects, not direct substitutes for duration in every build.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- It increases duration without increasing the chance of applying status effects.
- The same listed duration bonus is available on the compared mod with higher base drain.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing Status Duration with Status Chance.
- Assuming Embedded Catalyzer’s bonus applies without casting an Ability and aiming.
