Understand Burdened Magazine
Useful when…
- Increasing a shotgun’s magazine capacity.
- Trading slower reloads for more shots between reloads.
Effect and fit
At maximum rank, this Standard shotgun mod grants +60% Magazine Capacity and −18% Reload Speed. It is a Naramon-polarity standard slot mod with a rank cap of 5 and base drain 6.
Rank investment
The listed progression gives +10% magazine capacity and −3% reload speed at rank 0, +40% and −12% at rank 3, and +60% and −18% at rank 5. The final step alone costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits, so a lower rank provides a smaller capacity increase with a smaller reload penalty.
Alternatives and source
Ammo Stock gives +60% Magazine Capacity without a listed reload penalty, but has a different base drain. Atomic Fallout gives +40% Magazine Capacity and +60% Radiation at maximum rank; it serves a different purpose. Loaded Capacity is a Conclave variant and should not be treated as the same Standard mod. Burdened Magazine is listed from Derelict Vaults.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- More capacity comes with slower reload speed.
- The final rank step has a higher listed cost than earlier steps.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Counting the magazine bonus while ignoring the reload-speed penalty.
- Confusing the Conclave Loaded Capacity variant with this Standard mod.
