Useful when…
- Increasing Slash damage on a melee weapon.
Effect and application
At maximum rank, this Naramon-polarity standard melee mod grants +120% Slash. It has base drain 6, rank cap 5, and applies to melee weapons.
Rank investment
The listed bonus is +20% at rank 0, +80% at rank 3, and +120% at rank 5. The final step costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits. A lower rank supplies a partial Slash bonus at less than the final-step cost.
Related mods and source
Jagged Edge gives +90% Slash with base drain 2; Flawed Jagged Edge gives +60% Slash and is explicitly a Flawed variant. Carnis Mandible gives +90% Slash and +60% Status Chance, so it adds a distinct bonus. Buzz Kill is listed from the Eidolon Hydrolyst.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Buzz Kill’s listed base drain is higher than the comparison Slash mods’ base drain.
- The bonus is to Slash damage, not a stated increase to every damage type or final damage.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Reading +120% Slash as a final damage multiplier for all damage types.
- Paying the higher listed base drain without considering Jagged Edge or the Status Chance on Carnis Mandible.
