Understand Combo Killer
Useful when…
- Use when secondary kills are part of a play pattern that would otherwise let the melee combo timer expire.
- Consider it for thrown-melee setups that value extra combo duration.
Effect and trigger
The mod adds +0.8 seconds of combo duration at rank 0, +3.3 seconds at rank 3, and +5 seconds at rank 5. A kill with the secondary weapon resets the melee combo timer. The reset is tied to a secondary kill; merely switching weapons or hitting an enemy does not meet that stated trigger.
Fit and ranking
Combo Killer is a standard Thrown Melee mod with Naramon polarity, base drain 2, and maximum rank 5. Its modest base drain may help with slot capacity, while ranking extends combo duration; the rank 4 to 5 example costs 320 Endo and 15,456 Credits. Raise its rank if the additional duration matters to your combo maintenance, but remember the kill-reset effect is already present at rank 0.
Alternatives depend on the desired payoff
Combo Fury activates on a melee kill and buffs secondary reload speed and magazine capacity for 12 seconds. Mark of the Beast requires six melee kills within six seconds to grant secondary status and critical chance for 24 seconds. Neither duplicates Combo Killer's secondary-kill timer reset, and their conditions differ.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The timer reset requires a secondary-weapon kill; it does not trigger on a hit or melee kill.
- Additional combo duration scales with rank, requiring Endo and Credits.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing the secondary-kill trigger with a melee kill trigger.
- Ranking it for the timer reset alone; that effect is listed at every rank, while combo duration scales.
