Understand Condition Overload
Useful when…
- Melee builds that reliably hit status-affected targets.
- Setups that can apply multiple status types before melee attacks.
What it does
At maximum rank, the mod grants +80% Melee Damage per status type affecting the target. The bonus is conditional on statuses being present when you hit; the stated value is per type, not a guaranteed final damage total.
When to use it
It is most relevant when the target can be prepared with several status types, whether from the melee weapon or another source. If targets are usually unmarked or only carry one status, the condition yields less benefit. Compare with Galvanized Elementalist when seeking status damage and a status-chance-on-kill stacking effect, or with Healing Return when you want healing from statuses instead of melee damage.
Rank and fit
This is a standard melee mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 10, and five ranks. It starts at +13.3% per status type and reaches +80% at rank 5. Rank 4 to 5 costs 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits, so prioritize the final rank if the conditional bonus is central to your build and you can afford the drain and fusion cost.
Common misread
The target must already have a status type affecting it; merely equipping the mod does not create statuses. Relentless Combination is a different effect: it can increase the melee combo counter when Slash Status deals damage, rather than adding per-status melee damage.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its bonus depends on status types already affecting the target.
- Rank 5 costs more Endo and Credits than lower ranks.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the bonus applies to targets without an existing status type.
- Treating +80% per status type as the final damage multiplier of a complete build.
