Understand Conductor
Useful when…
- Octavia setups where directing Resonator toward a chosen point is useful.
- Players who want to reposition Resonator by reactivating its ability.
Effect and use
Conductor augments Resonator: reactivating the ability commands Resonator to move to the aim point. Movement speed scales from 100% at rank 0 to 150% at rank 3. Its practical value comes from being able to direct the Resonator, rather than relying only on its existing movement.
Slot and investment
It is an Octavia Exilus mod with Zenurik polarity, base drain 6, and three ranks. Rank 3 gives the listed 150% speed; the last rank costs 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits. Rank it further if faster repositioning is useful in your play, since even rank 0 supplies the reactivation command at 100% speed.
Alternative augment function
Partitioned Mallet changes Mallet by creating an additional Mallet with 20% reduced range. It addresses Mallet placement and coverage, while Conductor is about commanding Resonator's movement. They are not interchangeable effects.
Common misread
The speed bonus describes Resonator moving toward your aim point after reactivation. It is not a general speed increase for Octavia or her weapons.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The mod's benefit is tied to Resonator repositioning.
- It uses an Exilus slot and has base drain 6.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Reading Resonator's movement speed as a general Octavia speed bonus.
- Expecting it to create an additional Mallet; that is the comparison augment's effect.
