Understand Continuous Misery
Useful when…
- Extend status effect duration on a Rifle.
- Use when the weapon applies status effects whose duration matters to the intended combat plan.
Effect and compatibility
The mod grants +25% Status Duration at rank 0, +75% at rank 2, and +100% at rank 3. It is a standard Rifle mod with Madurai polarity and base drain 4. The listed effect increases duration; it does not increase status chance or directly state a damage increase.
Rank costs
The three rank steps cost 10, 20, and 40 Endo, plus 483, 966, and 1,932 Credits respectively. The maximum rank doubles status duration, but rank it according to the benefit that longer effects provide in your Rifle setup.
Not a status-chance substitute
Catalyzer Link grants status chance only after an ability cast and while aiming, for 9 seconds. Flawed Rifle Aptitude lists a flat status-chance bonus, while Galvanized Aptitude lists status chance and a conditional direct-damage bonus after kills. Those effects differ from Continuous Misery's longer status duration; consider them only when their specific conditions or stats are what the build needs.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Uses a Rifle slot and mod capacity for duration rather than status chance or another stat.
- Its benefit depends on applying status effects for which longer duration is useful.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing status duration with status chance.
- Treating Catalyzer Link's temporary aiming condition or Galvanized Aptitude's kill condition as unconditional effects.
