Understand Amphis

Useful when…

  • Use normal attacks for strikes that can connect with multiple enemies.
  • Use regular or heavy slams for their separate area Electricity attacks.
  • Compare it with Bo if choosing between staffs with different listed attack profiles.

Normal attacks

Normal attacks list 130 damage: 91 Impact, 19.5 Puncture, and 19.5 Slash. They have 13% critical chance, a 1.7× critical multiplier, and 21% status chance, at 1.25 attacks per second.

Slam attacks

Regular slams are area attacks listing 260 Electricity damage, 10% status chance, and falloff out to 6 m. Heavy slams separately list 378 Electricity damage, 10% status chance, and falloff out to 7 m. The description also identifies shock damage on jump attacks; these slam figures are distinct from the normal-attack profile.

Handling and comparison

Amphis lists 3 m range, 0.5 follow-through, a 0.5-second heavy-attack wind-up, a five-second combo duration, and a Naramon polarity. Bo is also a staff, with a mastery requirement of 0 and listed normal damage of 140; its description says it can send multiple enemies airborne. Amphis instead has explicit Electricity damage on its listed slam modes.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Normal attacks are Impact-heavy; the listed Electricity damage is on slam attacks.
  • Slam attacks have area falloff.
  • Its listed critical chance is 13%, with a 1.7× critical multiplier.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Do not attribute the slam Electricity damage to normal attacks.
  • Keep normal, regular slam, and heavy slam figures separate.
  • Do not mistake comparison weapons' properties for Amphis properties.
