Understand Ballistica
Useful when…
- Choosing between the listed burst and charged attack profiles.
- Considering a low-Mastery crossbow with a distinct Incarnon Form profile.
Burst and charged profiles
Burst Shot lists 2.5% critical chance, 2.5% status chance, and 6.25 Impact, 6.25 Slash, and 12.5 Puncture damage. Charged Shot takes 1 second to charge and lists 15% critical chance, 10% status chance, and 10 Impact, 10 Slash, and 80 Puncture damage. Both are projectile attacks; keep their profiles separate.
Capacity and Incarnon profile
Ballistica has a 16-round magazine, a 2-second reload, and a listed fire rate of 3.33. It requires Mastery Rank 2 and has one Vazarin polarity. Its separate Incarnon Form profile lists a 0.4-second charge, 20% critical chance, 2× critical multiplier, 20% status chance, and 640 Slash damage.
Other sidearm behaviors
Akzani is described as fast-firing dual pistols; Quatz has auto hip-fire and aimed semi-auto four-shot bursts; Hystrix lets the wielder choose Heat, Cold, Electricity, or Toxin quills. These descriptions offer different behaviors from Ballistica’s listed crossbow profiles; they do not establish direct substitutes.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The Charged Shot has a 1-second charge time; the Burst Shot has lower listed critical and status chances.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not apply the Charged Shot’s 15% critical chance or Puncture-heavy profile to Burst Shot.
- Do not treat Incarnon Form stats as the normal crossbow profile.
