Understand Bonewidow
Useful when…
- Necramech combat with frontal blocking
- Grabbing and throwing targets
- Suspending groups and using an exalted blade
What do its abilities do?
Meathook skewers and holds a target while siphoning its health; a second activation throws the victim, damaging it and nearby enemies at impact. Shield Maiden blocks incoming damage from the front and reflects it at attackers; Bonewidow can bash enemies with Maiden’s Kiss while it is active. Firing Line sweeps surrounding enemies into a line and suspends them with a force beam. Exalted Ironbride summons a powerful exalted blade.
When should you use Bonewidow?
Use Meathook when you want to isolate and reposition a target, with the follow-up throw damaging enemies at the landing point. Shield Maiden is for defending against attacks from the front and can be paired with its bash. Firing Line provides control by lifting and suspending surrounding targets, while Exalted Ironbride supplies a dedicated blade attack.
What do the stats suggest?
Bonewidow lists 1,880 Health, 480 Armor, and 430 Shield, matching its description as favoring health and armor over shields. Its listed polarities are two Vazarin and one Madurai. Voidrig is an alternative Necramech candidate with 1,400 Health, 385 Armor, and 850 Shield; those stats point to a different health/armor versus shield emphasis, not an automatic replacement.
What can go wrong?
Shield Maiden’s described block is directional: it protects against incoming damage from the front, so do not assume it covers attacks from every direction. Meathook’s throw requires a second activation after seizing a target.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Shield Maiden’s protection is explicitly frontal.
- Compared with the listed Voidrig stats, Bonewidow has more Health and Armor but less Shield.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Shield Maiden blocks attacks from behind or every direction.
- Forgetting to activate Meathook again to throw its target.
- Treating the Voidrig comparison as proof that one mech replaces the other.
