Understand Brakk
Useful when…
- Fighting at close range where its shotgun spread and per-shot cadence suit the engagement.
- Using a hitscan sidearm when projectile travel time would be inconvenient.
Pellets, damage, and range
Brakk’s normal attack is semi-automatic hitscan, with ten listed multishot pellets. The per-pellet damage profile is 9 Impact, 6 Slash, and 5 Puncture; the attack lists 17% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and 5.1% status chance. Damage falloff begins at 11 meters and reaches its listed end at 22 meters, with a 60% reduction. Treat it as a close-range weapon: the falloff is a concrete reason its punch is less reliable at distance.
Cadence and slot fit
The weapon fires at a listed rate of 5, holds five rounds, and reloads in 1.05 seconds. It requires Mastery Rank 6 and has Naramon and Madurai polarities. The low magazine means frequent reload decisions during sustained firing; the quick reload partly offsets that interruption. Its shotgun-sidearm type makes the short-range falloff more relevant than the nominal rate alone.
Related hand cannons
Kuva Brakk is described as a Lich variant with higher fire rate, magazine capacity, and reload speed, but it has a higher Mastery requirement of 13. Detron is another semi-automatic shotgun sidearm, while Athodai’s defining described behavior is temporary overdrive after weak-point kills. These offer different requirements or mechanics; the comparisons do not establish a universal reason to replace Brakk.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The attack loses damage with range: falloff runs from 11 to 22 meters with a 60% reduction.
- A five-round magazine requires frequent reloads.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not evaluate Brakk’s damage as if it had no falloff beyond 11 meters.
- Do not confuse the listed per-pellet damage with a single projectile’s damage.
