Understand Burston
Useful when…
- Firing controlled three-round bursts at targets in sight.
- Choosing a rifle with burst handling, a 45-round magazine, and a 2-second reload.
Normal attack and handling
The normal attack is hit-scan, listed at 5 attacks per second. Each shot deals 10 Impact, 10 Puncture, and 10 Slash damage, with 6% critical chance, a 1.6× critical multiplier, and 18% status chance. The Burst trigger and three-round description mean the 45-round magazine holds 15 complete bursts. Reload time is 2 seconds.
Incarnon attacks
Incarnon Form is a separate hit-scan attack listed at speed 20, with 3 Heat damage, 30% critical chance, a 3× critical multiplier, and 30% status chance. Incarnon Form Radial Attack is a separate AoE attack with the same listed damage and chances; its 0–2 meter falloff has no reduction. These figures describe separate modes, not the normal burst.
Other rifle firing patterns
Hind fires five-round bursts. Stradavar switches between semi-automatic and full-automatic modes, while Fulmin has a short-range electrical discharge and an automatic lightning mode. These offer different burst lengths or firing modes from Burston’s fixed three-round burst.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The normal attack has 6% critical chance.
- The 45-round magazine holds 15 complete three-round bursts.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not confuse attack speed with rounds per burst; the description specifies three rounds.
- Do not apply Incarnon attack values to the normal attack.
