Understand Daikyu
Useful when…
- Use charged shots against priority targets when you can take time to aim.
- Consider it for long-range projectile use, with attention to arrow travel.
- Choose another bow if quick follow-up shots or multiple charge behaviors matter more than a deliberate full draw.
What does a charged shot offer?
The weapon lists one attack: Charged Shot. It deals 700 total damage across 210 Impact, 280 Puncture, and 210 Slash, with 34% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and 46% status chance. The attack has a one-second charge time, fires a projectile at speed 140, and is listed at one shot per second. Its high per-shot damage is paired with a deliberate charge cycle; no quick-shot mode is listed for this bow.
How does it handle and fit into a build?
Daikyu has a one-arrow magazine, 0.6-second reload, charge trigger, one Madurai polarity, Mastery Rank 10 requirement, and rank cap of 30. Its single shot and charge make aim and timing more important than with bows that explicitly offer quick follow-ups.
Which bow alternatives behave differently?
Cinta is described as offering quick successive arrows, a quickly charged shock wave, or a fully charged focused shot, so it explicitly has more firing choices. Daikyu Prime has both a quick shot and a charged shot, with separate charge times and damage entries. Evensong instead describes ally-protection and weapon-multishot support effects. These are concrete differences in handling or utility; they do not establish that any one bow is best for every player.
What is easy to misread?
The 700 damage figure belongs to the charged attack. Do not assign Daikyu Prime’s quick-shot behavior to the regular Daikyu: its supplied attack list contains only the one-second charged shot. Since arrows are projectiles, account for travel when targeting moving enemies.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The one-second charge slows follow-up shots.
- The one-arrow magazine requires reloading after each shot.
- Projectile travel can complicate shots against moving targets.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the regular Daikyu has the quick-shot mode listed for Daikyu Prime.
- Firing at moving targets without accounting for projectile travel.
- Treating its charged-shot damage as a rapid-fire rate.
