Understand Efv-8 Mars
Useful when…
- Use normal hitscan fire for direct Impact and Puncture damage.
- Use alternate fire for its listed Corrosive projectile and AoE attack.
Normal fire
The normal attack is hitscan at 6.5 shots per second, with 75 damage: 55 Puncture and 20 Impact. It has 27% critical chance, a 2.1× multiplier, and 17% status chance. The magazine holds 15 rounds and reloads in about 1.67 seconds. Accuracy is listed as 10, so the weapon's direct hitscan property does not imply high precision.
Alternate-fire entries
It separately lists an Alt-Fire AoE at 6.5 shots per second with 313 Corrosive damage, 33% status chance, and falloff ending at three units with 80% reduction. Keep the projectile and AoE figures distinct: they are separate attack entries, not one combined per-shot total.
Investment and comparisons
The pistol requires Mastery rank 14 and has a rank cap of 30 with Madurai and Vazarin polarities. Its 27% critical chance is a stronger starting point than its normal status chance, while the alternate fire has a higher listed status chance. Mk1-Furis is described as a standard Tenno automatic pistol; Lato Vandal is slower-firing but more accurate and damaging; Twin Vipers Wraith is a dual machine-pistol variant. Their handling differs from Efv-8 Mars's alternate-fire setup.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Versatile direct and area attack entries, each with different damage and status properties.
- Alternate-fire AoE damage has strong listed falloff over a short range.
- Low listed accuracy affects the practical precision of normal hitscan fire.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Combining the separate Alt-Fire projectile and AoE entries into a single damage figure.
- Applying the 33% alternate-fire status chance to normal fire.
- Ignoring the AoE's short falloff range and high reduction.
