Understand Ether Daggers
Useful when…
- Use when you want quick, close-range dual-dagger attacks with a substantial Slash component.
- Consider them when you value high follow-through across targets and can stay within their short reach.
What does each attack do?
The normal attack deals 224 total damage: 156.8 Slash, 33.6 Impact, and 33.6 Puncture. It lists 10% critical chance, a 1.8× critical multiplier, and 30% status chance, at 0.833 attack speed. The regular Slam Attack deals 448 Impact in an area, with 50% falloff from 0 to 6 metres. Heavy Slam deals 672 Blast in an area, with 30% falloff from 0 to 7 metres. Both slam modes list 10% status chance, so their chance differs from the normal attack’s 30%.
Where does it fit?
At 1.75 range, these daggers reward staying close. Their 0.8 follow-through supports hitting through multiple targets, while the normal attack’s Slash-heavy damage and 30% status chance favor a status-leaning approach. Heavy Attacks have a 0.5-second wind-up, but the listed Heavy Attack damage is 448; that direct attack is distinct from the 672-damage Heavy Slam area mode.
How should you invest?
If you build around normal attacks, status-oriented investment follows the listed 30% status chance and Slash share. Critical investment is also possible, but the listed critical chance is 10% and multiplier 1.8×, so it starts from a more modest critical profile. Ether Daggers have a Vazarin polarity and require Mastery Rank 6. The Ether Sword is a single sword with a higher normal-attack status chance of 34%; Dual Ether is a dual-sword candidate with 20% listed critical chance. Those are different weapon classes and profiles, not automatic upgrades.
What should you watch for?
The short range makes positioning important, and the area slam attacks lose damage with distance. The normal attack’s status chance should not be carried over to the slams. Karyst Prime is a single dagger candidate requiring Mastery Rank 12, rather than dual daggers; the candidate data gives its critical profile but not details for a full handling comparison.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Short 1.75 listed range asks for close positioning.
- Critical chance is 10%, with a 1.8× multiplier.
- Slam attacks have area falloff and lower listed status chance than the normal attack.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not assume the normal attack’s 30% status chance applies to slams; both slam modes list 10%.
- Do not confuse Heavy Attack damage with Heavy Slam area damage.
