Understand Fragor Prime
Useful when…
- Use for close, heavy melee when a high listed critical chance and multiplier fit your build direction.
- Use separate slam modes for area damage, accounting for their falloff.
How do its attacks work?
Normal attacks deal 270 total damage: 189 Impact, 40.5 Puncture, and 40.5 Slash. They have 40% critical chance, a 2.5× multiplier, and 18% status chance at 0.8 speed. Regular Slam deals 540 Impact in an area with 50% falloff from 0 to 9 metres. Heavy Slam deals 810 Blast in an area with 30% falloff from 0 to 10 metres. The direct Heavy Attack is listed at 1,620 damage, separate from the 1,350 Heavy Slam.
When is it worth the commitment?
Fragor Prime requires Mastery Rank 12 and has a Madurai polarity. Its high listed critical chance and multiplier give critical-oriented investment a reasonable basis if you want to build around that profile. Its attack speed and wind-up remain slow, so it suits deliberate swings rather than a rapid-hit preference.
What alternatives change the weapon type?
Ceti Lacera is a blade-and-whip, Cronus is a sword, and Dakra Prime is a sword candidate with a listed 36% critical chance and 2.4× multiplier.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Slow 0.8 attack speed and 1.2-second Heavy Attack wind-up.
- Normal status chance is 18%, below its listed critical chance.
- Requires Mastery Rank 12.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not conflate the direct 1,620 Heavy Attack with the 1,350 Heavy Slam area attack.
- Do not treat critical chance or multiplier as a final damage calculation.
