Understand Gara Prime
Useful when…
- Protecting allies who contact Splinter Storm
- Trapping enemies and punishing attacks with Spectrorage
- Creating and shattering a weapons-fire-blocking glass ring
How the abilities work
Shattered Lash has a tap stream and a held arcing strike, with stats boosted by mods equipped on Shattered Lash. Splinter Storm fortifies allies against damage when they contact its glass cloud. Spectrorage traps enemies in a mirror carousel and damages attackers when mirrors are destroyed or the carousel collapses. Mass Vitrify expands to crystallize enemies, then hardens to block weapons fire; crystallized enemies' health and shields add strength to the ring. Shattered Lash smashes the ring and sends glass outward. Her passive gives a chance to create a radial blind on ability casts, but the duration value is unresolved.
Practical setup
Use Splinter Storm with attention to ally contact, and use Mass Vitrify when a ring that blocks weapons fire is useful. Its stated strength condition is linked to enemies crystallized during expansion. Shattered Lash is the named way to break the ring, so its two input modes matter to how you use it. Gara Prime lists 345 health, 270 shields, and 200 armor, with two Madurai and one Naramon polarity plus a Vazarin aura polarity.
Prime differences and alternatives
Compared with standard Gara, Gara Prime lists 75 more health and 40 more armor, with the same 270 shields, and adds a Naramon polarity to its two Madurai polarities. The abilities are described the same way, so the supported distinction is stats and mod layout. Jade's description frames her as a source of destruction or support, while Khora Prime's describes a huntress fighting alongside her Kavat. Neither comparison establishes the same contact protection or glass barrier role.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Ally protection from Splinter Storm depends on contact with its cloud.
- The barrier's explicit protection is against weapons fire, not every damage source.
- The passive blind duration is unspecified and cannot support precise timing claims.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the Prime variant as having different ability behavior when the supplied descriptions match Gara's.
- Assuming the Mass Vitrify ring blocks all damage types.
- Forgetting that the ally benefit from Splinter Storm requires contact.
