Understand Gunsen Prime
Useful when…
- Close-range combat using Slash-heavy normal attacks.
- Regular or heavy slams, which have separate Impact and Blast profiles.
Normal attack and handling
The normal attack deals 225 listed damage: 202.5 Slash, 13.5 Puncture, and 9 Impact. It has 20% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, 34% status chance, 1.17 attack speed, 1.9 m range, and a 5-second combo duration.
Slam modes
A regular slam lists 450 Impact damage, 10% status chance, and 50% falloff by 5 m. A heavy slam lists 675 Blast damage, 34% status chance, and 30% falloff by 6 m. The listed heavy-attack damage is 900, and wind-up is 0.5 seconds; these are separate from the slam entries.
Build and comparison
Gunsen Prime ranks to 30 and has two Madurai polarities. Its listed construction uses two blades, two handles, and a blueprint. Against standard Gunsen, the listed normal damage is 225 versus 160, range is 1.9 versus 1.7 m, critical chance is 20% versus 16%, and status chance is 34% versus 28%. Ceti Lacera is a blade and whip, while Dual Keres is a dual sword; their types differ from the warfan.
Mastery and attack distinctions
The Mastery Rank 12 requirement gates use by Mastery. Do not apply the normal attack’s damage mix to either slam: the regular slam is Impact, and the heavy slam is Blast. The heavy-slam wind-up is listed as 0.5 seconds.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- It requires Mastery Rank 12, compared with Rank 8 for standard Gunsen.
- Its listed normal damage, range, critical chance, and status chance exceed standard Gunsen; this comparison does not establish that every property is higher.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using standard Gunsen’s values for the Prime version.
- Combining normal attacks, regular slams, and heavy slams into one damage profile.
