Dual Keres

Fast, critical-oriented dual-sword melee weapon

Released Apr 20, 2018

Dual Keres is a fast dual-sword option with a high listed critical chance and multiplier for its Mastery tier. Consider it for close-range attacks when you want a stronger critical starting profile than its 14% status chance suggests.

Dual Keres GUIDE

Understand Dual Keres

Useful when…

  • Use its normal attack for fast, critical-oriented close-range strikes.
  • Use slams when area damage is useful, accounting for their separate damage types.

Normal attack handling

The normal attack lists 115 total damage: 66.7 Slash, 34.5 Puncture, and 13.8 Impact. Attack speed is 1.25, critical chance 28%, critical multiplier 2.6x, status chance 14%, and range 2.5 m. Its critical stats make it a more natural starting point for critical emphasis than status emphasis.

Slam modes

A regular slam deals 230 Impact area damage, with falloff from 0 to 8 m and 50% reduction. A heavy slam deals 345 Blast area damage, with falloff from 0 to 9 m and 30% reduction. Both list 10% status chance, so the normal attack's status value does not carry over to these modes.

Comparison and investment

Dual Keres requires Mastery Rank 7 and lists 2.5 m range. Dual Keres Prime is a related Prime option with Mastery Rank 14 and a described Heavy Attack Efficiency benefit specifically when wielded by Khora. Dual Ichor is also a dual-sword weapon with a 25% critical chance and 3x multiplier, while Fang Prime is a Dual Dagger. Those differences can guide weapon-family or progression choices, but do not by themselves make a candidate a substitute.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • High listed critical stats are paired with a 14% normal status chance.
  • Slam damage types and status chance differ from the normal attack.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Do not attribute Dual Keres Prime's Khora-specific Heavy Attack Efficiency note to the base Dual Keres.
  • Do not use the normal attack's 14% status chance for its slam attacks.
