Understand Jat Kittag
Useful when…
- Close combat centered on direct melee hits.
- Slam attacks against nearby groups.
How its attacks differ
Normal attacks deal 160 Impact, 30 Puncture, and 10 Slash damage, with 15% critical chance and 25% status chance. A standard slam deals 400 Blast damage in an area out to 9 m, with damage falling by 50% across that radius; a heavy slam deals 600 Blast damage out to 10 m, with 30% falloff. These are separate attack modes and their listed damage should not be conflated.
Handling and investment
Its listed attack speed is 1, range is 2.8 m, and heavy-attack wind-up is 1.2 seconds. The 15% critical chance and 2× critical multiplier make critical-focused upgrades less immediately supported by its base profile than building around its high Impact normal-hit damage or its slam modes. It has Madurai and Naramon polarities, which can help fit matching mods; investment still depends on the mods and play pattern you intend to use.
Tradeoffs and alternatives
The hammer's 1.2-second heavy wind-up makes heavy attacks a deliberate commitment. If you want a different weapon behavior, the Halikar is a glaive, while the Jat Kusar is a blade-and-whip with a charged ranged blast; neither is simply another hammer. The Kuva Shildeg is also a hammer, but requires mastery rank 13 compared with Jat Kittag's rank 5.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Heavy-attack wind-up is 1.2 seconds.
- Normal attacks are strongly Impact-weighted; critical chance is 15%.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not treat the standard slam and heavy slam as the same attack: their listed Blast damage and falloff differ.
- Do not assume the Jat Kusar's charged ranged blast is a Jat Kittag feature.
