Understand Javlok
Useful when…
- Use the charged projectile attack when you want the listed Heat slug and its separately listed explosion entry.
- Use the spear throw when you want its separate impact and Heat explosion entries.
Fired projectile entries
Projectile Impact takes 0.3 seconds to charge and lists 160 Heat damage. Projectile Explosion is a separate attack entry listing 120 Heat damage, with falloff from 0 to 2.4 and 30% reduction.
Spear-throw entries
Spear Throw Impact lists 45 Impact, 30 Slash, and 75 Puncture. Spear Throw Explosion separately lists 300 Heat damage, with falloff from 0 to 6 and 60% reduction. The thrown attack is distinct from the charged projectile attack.
Handling and comparison
Javlok has a six-round magazine, a 1.9-second reload, 20% critical chance, a 2x critical multiplier, and 25% status chance. It has two Madurai polarities. Dera is described as a repeater firing super-heated plasma; Acceltra Prime as a fast weapon with faster reload while sprinting; and Aeolak as an automatic rifle with a charged explosive alternate shot. Those are different described weapon behaviors.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The charged projectile has a listed 0.3-second charge.
- The six-round magazine and 1.9-second reload are relevant to sustained use.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not report the spear-throw explosion as the fired projectile's explosion.
- Do not assume the projectile impact and explosion entries prove that every shot hits with both.
