Understand Mk1-Furax
Useful when…
- Use normal attacks when you want an accessible fist weapon with a higher listed critical chance than Mk1-Bo.
- Use slam attacks for AoE Impact or Blast damage rather than relying on fist reach.
What is its normal attack like?
The normal attack lists 90 total damage: 63 Impact, 13.5 Puncture, and 13.5 Slash. It has 20% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and 10% status chance. Listed speed is 1, range is 1.25 m, and wind-up is 0.6 seconds.
What do the slam attacks add?
The standard slam is an AoE Impact attack listed at 180 damage, with 10% status chance and 50% falloff by 8 m. The heavy slam is an AoE Blast attack listed at 270 damage, with 10% status chance and 30% falloff by 9 m. These area attacks do not change the listed 1.25 m normal-attack range.
How does it compare with other starter gear?
Mk1-Bo also has no Mastery requirement and deals 90 listed normal-attack damage, but is a staff with 3 m listed range and 10% critical chance. Mk1-Braton and Braton Vandal are rifles, so their firearm roles differ from a melee fist weapon. Braton Vandal requires Rank 4 and is described as slower but more accurate and damaging than the standard Braton.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Very short 1.25 m listed range.
- Status chance is 10%, despite the stronger listed critical chance relative to Mk1-Bo.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not mistake its 20% critical chance for status chance; status chance is 10%.
- Do not expect its slam AoE range to increase its normal-attack reach.
