Understand Obex
Useful when…
- Fast close-range normal attacks with 25% critical chance.
- Heavy attacks when you want to use the listed 1,440 heavy-attack damage value.
What do the attack modes do?
Normal attacks list 120 total damage: 84 Impact, 18 Puncture, and 18 Slash. They have speed 1, 25% critical chance, a 2× multiplier, and 10% status chance. A regular slam is an area attack dealing 240 Electricity damage with 50% falloff by 7 m; a heavy slam deals 360 Electricity damage with 30% falloff by 8 m. The details separately list 1,440 heavy-attack damage. Obex has 1.25 m range, 0.9 follow-through, and a 0.5-second heavy-attack wind-up.
What is a sensible investment direction?
Its 25% critical chance and 2× multiplier make critical-focused upgrades a reasonable direction to consider, while the 10% status chance gives less support to prioritizing status from the base profile. Its short range means you must engage nearby targets, but 0.9 follow-through is comparatively high among the supplied examples. Obex requires Mastery Rank 4 and lists no polarities. Crafting calls for a blueprint, 300 Alloy Plate, 650 Circuits, 700 Ferrite, and 900 Salvage; build time is 43,200 seconds.
How does it differ from the alternatives?
Scindo is a Heavy Blade described as slower and able to connect with multiple targets, so it trades Obex's sparring style for a different weapon class. Tenet Agendus has a sword-and-shield form and a described heavy-attack energy disk. Tenet Grigori launches a ricocheting disk on Heavy Slide Attack and its description ties disk lifetime to combo size. None of those effects are listed for Obex.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- 25% critical chance and 0.9 follow-through, but 1.25 m range.
- Only 10% normal-attack status chance.
- Slam attacks use Electricity damage despite the normal attack's physical damage mix.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not mistake the 1,440 heavy-attack figure for the 360 heavy-slam area attack.
- Do not expect the normal attack's physical damage mix from its Electricity slam modes.
- Do not ignore the short 1.25 m range.
