Understand Octavia
Useful when…
- Drawing enemy fire with Mallet and combining it with Resonator for a moving attack.
- Gaining cloaking, speed, multishot, or melee damage through Metronome timing.
- Amplifying nearby Mallets and granting a damage buff with Amp.
Mallet and Resonator
Mallet rhythmically damages nearby enemies and draws their fire; damage inflicted on it increases its lethality. Resonator launches a rollerball that charms foes to follow it. The two abilities combine into a roving ball of sonic destruction. This gives Octavia an enemy-attracting damage setup whose movement comes from Resonator, rather than a stationary effect alone.
Timing creates Metronome buffs
Metronome rewards actions performed in time with the music. Timed jumps grant Vivace speed, crouching on the beat grants Nocturne cloaking, rhythmic firing grants Opera multishot, and timed melee swings grant Forte damage. These are separate action conditions, so choose the buff by performing its corresponding action on the beat. Octavia’s passive also replenishes Energy for herself and allies within a stated range when abilities are activated, but the amounts and range are unresolved placeholders.
Amp and fitting
Amp draws power from the decibel level of sound in the area to amplify a damage buff for Octavia and allies. It also doubles the damage and range of nearby Mallets. Octavia has 270 Health, 180 Shields, 160 Armor, and 175 Power, with two Naramon polarities and a Naramon aura polarity.
Practical limits
Metronome’s benefits require matching the relevant action to the beat; merely activating the ability does not establish that each buff is gained. Amp’s Mallet bonus applies to nearby Mallets, and its damage buff is tied to area sound level. Octavia Prime shares the listed ability descriptions but has different stats and polarities. Nezha and Jade are comparison frames with distinct stated emphases, not evidence that they reproduce Octavia’s rhythm conditions.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Metronome buffs depend on timing the specific action to the music.
- Amp’s damage buff depends on area sound level; the data supplies no numeric effect.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting Metronome buffs without performing the matching action in time.
- Assuming Amp doubles every Mallet regardless of proximity.
