Understand Panthera Prime
Useful when…
- Use normal fire when repeated projectile sawblades and their small radial slash component suit the target spacing.
- Use alternate fire for its separate hitscan, slash-heavy attack.
What does each attack do?
Normal attack is an automatic projectile with listed shot speed and flight of 80 m/s and 80 m, respectively. Its direct values are 20 impact, 70 slash, and 10 puncture, with 18% critical chance, a 2× multiplier, and 30% status chance. A separate radial attack adds 20 slash damage in a 0–1.6 m area, with 20% listed reduction at the outer edge. Alternate fire is hitscan and lists 100 slash damage, 26% critical chance, and 38% status chance. Keep the radial component distinct from the direct projectile and from alternate fire.
How does it handle in combat?
It fires automatically at a listed rate of 3.67, has an 80% accuracy entry, a 40-round magazine, and a 2.4-second reload. The projectile has a listed speed of 80 m/s, so target movement and range still matter. Its alternate fire is hitscan and listed at attack speed 2. The weapon requires Mastery 14 and has both Madurai and Naramon polarities.
Where should upgrades go?
Normal fire has 30% status chance, and alternate fire has 38%; status-focused investment is a reasonable option if you intend to use those attacks for effect application. Alternate fire has 26% critical chance compared with 18% on normal fire, so critical investment is more aligned with that mode. Its two listed polarities provide matching-slot options, but upgrade priorities should follow your chosen attack pattern.
What should players watch for?
The radial attack has only a 1.6 m listed extent, so it is not a broad area weapon. The normal shot remains a projectile, and the 80% accuracy entry is lower than Panthera's listed 100%. The alternate fire has separate attack values and should not be treated as though it inherits the normal shot's radial attack.
How does it compare in role?
Tenet Tetra is described as slower firing with a larger magazine and an alternate-fire grenade burst; Braton Prime is described as a classic rifle with a larger magazine than its standard model. Coda Bubonico is a shotgun whose primary fire ramps up with continuous fire. Each offers a different handling pattern, and the descriptions do not establish them as direct replacements for this sawblade weapon.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Larger magazine and faster fire rate than Panthera, with a radial slash component.
- Normal attack remains a projectile and the radial reach is limited to 1.6 m.
- Alternate fire has different critical and status values and no listed radial component.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the normal projectile, radial slash, and alternate fire share identical effects.
- Expecting the 1.6 m radial attack to cover a wide area.
