Understand Praedos
Useful when…
- Use normal attacks when its listed Slash-heavy damage mix suits the encounter.
- Use regular or heavy slams as area attacks, keeping their damage types and falloff separate.
- Consider its listed range, follow-through, and starting polarities when planning a melee setup.
What does each attack do?
Normal Attack lists 200 total damage: 20 Impact, 20 Puncture, and 160 Slash. It has 20% critical chance, a 2× critical multiplier, and 20% status chance. The regular Slam Attack is an area attack listing 400 Impact, 10% status chance, and falloff to 8 m, where damage is reduced by 50%. Heavy Slam Attack is separate: it lists 600 Blast, 10% status chance, and falloff to 9 m, where damage is reduced by 30%. How does it handle?
Praedos lists 2.5 m range, 0.6 follow-through, a 60-degree blocking angle, and a five-second combo duration. Heavy attacks have a listed 0.7-second wind-up. These handling values can help determine whether its melee reach and attack timing fit how you engage enemies. Its polarities are Madurai and Naramon. What should you know before investing?
Praedos requires Mastery Rank 14 and has a rank cap of 30. It is tagged Incarnon, but that tag alone does not describe an evolution effect; use the listed attack profiles when weighing its current role. If comparing melee forms, Innodem is a dagger whose description mentions strengthened aerial glides and resilience during finishers in Incarnon Form; Fang Prime is dual daggers described as piercing hardened materials; Galariak Prime is a scythe described as gaining critical chance per status type affecting a target. These are distinct mechanics and weapon types, not evidence of a direct ranking against Praedos. Limitations and tradeoffs
- Normal attacks are Slash-heavy, while regular slams deal Impact and heavy slams deal Blast.
- The two slam modes have different falloff distances and reductions.
- The Incarnon tag does not by itself specify an evolution effect.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Confusing the regular Slam Attack's Impact damage with the Heavy Slam Attack's Blast damage.
- Applying one slam's falloff distance or reduction to the other.
- Inferring a particular evolution effect from the Incarnon tag alone.
