Understand Shedu
Useful when…
- Fire projectiles for Heat damage and their separate electrical radial attack.
- Against Sentients, make use of the stated resistance-stripping pulse when the capacitor fully discharges.
Projectile, blast, and capacitor behavior
The normal attack is a projectile fired at 2.5 shots per second, with 25% critical chance, a 2.1× multiplier, and 23% status chance; it deals 71 Heat damage. A separate radial attack deals 87 Electricity damage, with 29% status chance and falloff reaching 6.6 meters at a listed 60% reduction. The weapon has a seven-round magazine and 0.65-second listed reload. Its description calls the capacitor ammo-less and says it emits a knockback pulse and strips Sentient damage resistances when fully discharged. The supplied attack data does not quantify the charge duration or resistance reduction, so keep that conditional effect distinct from the listed projectile and radial attacks.
Practical use and investment
Shedu's normal and radial attacks have different damage types and status chances, so do not collapse them into a single damage profile. It requires Mastery Rank 13 and has two Madurai polarities for compatible mod selection. The short reload and limited seven-round magazine shape its firing rhythm. The resistance-stripping effect is specifically described against Sentients; the input does not establish an equivalent benefit against other factions.
Other Sentient and rifle choices
Basmu offers explosive bolts or chain-capable plasma beams and a health-leech effect when its battery is fully drained, a different conditional resource mechanic. Haalvu can split into separate rifles that track up to four targets while consuming more ammo per shot. Kuva Quartakk changes its firing behavior between hip fire and aimed fire. These are distinct properties; none should be assumed to share Shedu's capacitor pulse or Sentient resistance effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The radial attack has 60% falloff reduction by 6.6 meters.
- The magazine holds seven rounds, requiring periodic reloads.
- The capacitor pulse is conditional on full discharge and its exact magnitude is unspecified.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the projectile's Heat damage and radial Electricity damage are the same attack component.
- Expecting resistance stripping against non-Sentient enemies or before the capacitor fully discharges.
