Understand Stinger
Useful when…
- Equip as Djinn’s standard companion weapon.
- Use for toxin projectile and embed attacks rather than a purely instant hit.
Projectile and embed damage
The normal attack fires a projectile at listed speed 65 and deals 15 Toxin damage. A separate Toxin Embed attack is listed as a damage-over-time mode dealing 15 Toxin damage. The weapon description says embedded projectiles continuously deal damage for 3 seconds. Both attack entries list 2.5% critical chance, a 1.5× multiplier and 20% status chance; the attack modes should remain distinct.
Handling and fit
Stinger has a semi-automatic trigger, four-round magazine and 1.2-second reload. Its 20% status chance is higher than its 2.5% critical chance, so status investment is the more natural consideration from its listed base properties. Its small magazine and low critical chance are tradeoffs for the toxin embed behavior.
Other companion weapon profiles
Sweeper and Sweeper Prime are hit-scan shotgun weapons; their handling and physical damage profile differ from Stinger’s toxin projectiles. Cryotra fires icy grenade volleys that chill the blast zone, another distinct effect. Consider these only when their weapon type and effect better suit the companion setup.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Toxin damage is divided between projectile and embed attack entries.
- Low critical chance, a four-round magazine and semi-automatic handling limit its fit for sustained fire.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Counting the projectile and toxin embed as one attack mode.
- Expecting frequent critical hits from a 2.5% critical chance.
