Understand Valkyr
Useful when…
- Use Warcry to bolster Armor and Attack Speed for allies within Affinity Range.
- Use Paralysis to damage and slow victims while increasing their Melee Damage vulnerability.
- Use Hysteria for damaging claws that heal Valkyr and provide Status Effect immunity while she uses them.
Melee abilities
Rip Line hooks and pulls Valkyr toward what it hits. If it hits an enemy, nearby foes are pulled in as Valkyr performs a coordinated Melee attack. Warcry bolsters Armor and Attack Speed for allies within Affinity Range. Paralysis deals damage, slows victims and increases their Melee Damage vulnerability. Hysteria equips deadly claws that deal damage and heal Valkyr; Valkyr is immune to Status Effects while using the claws, and her Warcry Armor bonus is multiplied while using them.
Rage and survivability
Valkyr accumulates Rage when hitting or killing enemies with melee weapons, increasing her Melee Damage. The passive also says that taking fatal damage above a Rage threshold consumes the meter, prevents death and grants invulnerability. Its threshold, damage increase and duration contain unresolved values and cannot be quantified.
Stats and Prime comparison
Valkyr has 650 Health, 135 Shields and 855 Armor, with two Madurai mod polarities and a Madurai aura polarity. Valkyr Prime lists the same Health and Shields, 1000 Armor and three Madurai mod polarities. Their supplied ability descriptions match; the comparison supports a difference in listed stats and polarities, not a different ability kit.
Conditions to keep in mind
Warcry’s ally benefits specify Affinity Range. Hysteria’s description ties healing to the damaging claws, states Status Effect immunity while Valkyr uses them, and says the Warcry Armor bonus is multiplied while using them. Rip Line’s enemy hit draws nearby foes in for a coordinated melee attack; it does not specify a group pull.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The kit emphasizes melee weapons and close-range attacks.
- Warcry’s ally benefits specify Affinity Range.
- The Rage save threshold and invulnerability duration are unresolved.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Warcry’s ally benefits apply beyond Affinity Range.
- Treating the unresolved Rage save threshold or invulnerability duration as known.
- Describing Rip Line as a group pull rather than nearby foes being pulled in after an enemy hit.
