Understand Flawed Expel Infested
Useful when…
- Fitting an Infested-specific bonus into a pistol build with limited capacity.
- Using a lower-rank option when a standard or Primed version is not part of the build.
Effect and fit
The mod increases pistol damage against Infested: its listed effect is x1.03 at rank 0, x1.08 at rank 2, and x1.1 at maximum rank 3. It is a Flawed, standard-slot pistol mod with Madurai polarity and base drain 2. It cannot be equipped with Expel Infested or Primed Expel Infested.
Practical use
Its lower drain can be useful when a pistol build has little capacity to spare, provided Infested are the intended targets. The bonus is faction-specific and does not apply to other enemies. Accelerated Isotope lists Radiation damage and fire rate instead, so it offers different stats rather than the same conditional effect.
Rank investment
The mod can be ranked from 0 to 3. Listed example costs are 20 Endo and 966 Credits for rank 0 to 1, 40 Endo and 1,932 Credits for rank 1 to 2, and 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits for rank 2 to 3. Maximum rank gives x1.1 damage to Infested. Decide whether that faction-specific gain merits the Endo and slot capacity in the intended build.
Compare the other variants
Expel Infested lists x1.3 damage to Infested, maximum rank 5, and base drain 4. Primed Expel Infested lists x1.55, maximum rank 10, and base drain 4. The Flawed version trades a lower listed bonus for lower base drain; the variants cannot be equipped together.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The maximum listed faction bonus is x1.1, below the standard and Primed versions.
- Its base drain is 2, but the benefit is limited to Infested.
- It cannot be equipped with the standard or Primed versions.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the bonus applies against factions other than Infested.
- Equipping it alongside Expel Infested or Primed Expel Infested.
- Ranking it to maximum without considering whether the faction condition and modest gain justify the Endo and capacity.
