Understand Fanged Fusillade
Useful when…
- Rifle configurations that benefit from increased Slash damage
Effect and compatibility
This standard rifle mod adds Slash damage: +20% at rank 0, +80% at rank 3 and +120% at rank 5. It has Naramon polarity and base drain 6. The effect increases Slash damage; it does not itself state a chance to inflict a Slash status effect.
Rank and alternatives
Fanged Fusillade has five ranks. Sample fusion costs rise from 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits for ranks 0→1 to 480 Endo and 23,184 Credits for ranks 4→5. Compare its Slash-damage increase and slot cost with Sawtooth Clip, which also adds Slash damage, or Internal Bleeding, which has a conditional chance to apply a Slash Status Effect from Impact status effects (doubled below 2.5 Fire Rate). Flawed Sawtooth Clip is a lower-rank flawed option. These effects are not interchangeable: Internal Bleeding has a different trigger, and its condition matters.
Limitations
The listed effect is a Slash damage bonus, not a direct statement that every hit inflicts Slash status. It occupies a standard rifle slot and uses progressively more fusion resources at higher ranks.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Uses a standard rifle slot for a specific damage type.
- Higher ranks have escalating fusion costs.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Reading Slash damage as a guaranteed Slash status effect.
- Ignoring Internal Bleeding’s Impact-status and Fire Rate conditions when comparing effects.
