Understand Flak Shot
Useful when…
- Use on a shotgun in Conclave when you want to convert part of its damage to Slash.
Effect and compatibility
At rank 0, Flak Shot converts 5% of damage into Slash; at rank 2 it converts 15%, and at its maximum rank of 3 it converts 20%. It is a standard-slot Conclave mod for shotguns, with Madurai polarity. It cannot be equipped alongside Crash Shot or Shred Shot.
Rank investment
The mod has a base drain of 2 and takes 3 ranks to reach its 20% conversion. The listed fusion costs are 20 Endo and 966 Credits from rank 0 to 1, 40 Endo and 1,932 Credits from rank 1 to 2, and 80 Endo and 3,864 Credits from rank 2 to 3. Since the final two ranks add 5 percentage points each, consider whether that increase is worth the additional fusion cost for your build.
Choosing a damage conversion
Crash Shot converts damage to Impact and Shred Shot converts it to Puncture; both are also rank-3 Conclave shotgun mods with Madurai polarity and base drain 2, and both are explicitly incompatible with Flak Shot. Accelerated Blast is a separate standard shotgun mod that adds Fire Rate and Puncture, rather than converting damage, so it is not a like-for-like alternative.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- The conversion is specialized to Conclave shotguns and does not itself state a total-damage increase.
- It cannot be equipped with Crash Shot or Shred Shot.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Treating the 20% conversion as a 20% increase to total damage.
- Trying to equip it together with Crash Shot or Shred Shot.
