High Voltage

Rifle elemental and status mod

Released Mar 5, 2014

High Voltage adds Electricity damage and Status Chance to a rifle. Consider it when both listed bonuses suit the weapon build and you can accommodate its standard-slot drain.

High Voltage GUIDE

Understand High Voltage

Useful when…

  • Add Electricity damage and Status Chance to a compatible rifle.
  • Use a lower rank when conserving fusion resources or mod capacity.

Effects and fit

High Voltage is a standard Rare rifle mod with Madurai polarity, base drain 4, and maximum rank 3. At rank 0 it grants +15% Electricity and +15% Status Chance; at rank 3 it grants +60% to each. These are mod bonuses, not a statement of final weapon damage. No weapon exclusions are listed.

Rank investment

The first fusion step costs 30 Endo and 1,449 Credits; the listed cost for the final step is 120 Endo and 5,796 Credits. Rank 0 already provides both bonuses, so a conditional approach is to raise it as capacity and resources allow.

Alternatives and acquisition

The listed alternatives serve different purposes: Catalyzer Link grants Status Chance only after an Ability Cast while Aiming, Flawed Rifle Aptitude grants Status Chance as a flawed mod, and Galvanized Aptitude combines Status Chance with a conditional on-kill damage effect. They are not direct equivalents to High Voltage’s Electricity bonus. Listed High Voltage sources are Eris cache missions at Rotation C.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • Provides two bonuses, but consumes a standard mod slot and has base drain 4.
  • Ranking increases the listed bonuses at an increasing fusion-resource cost.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Treating the listed Electricity percentage as final damage.
  • Assuming a Status Chance-only alternative also supplies Electricity damage.
