Useful when…
- Reduce recoil on a compatible Pistol in Conclave.
- Use when the recoil reduction is more valuable than retaining magazine capacity.
Effect and mode
At maximum rank, Hydraulic Barrel gives 40% less weapon recoil and 20% less magazine capacity. At rank 0 the values are 10% less recoil and 5% less capacity; rank 2 gives 30% less recoil and 15% less capacity. It is explicitly a Conclave variant.
Fit and investment
This is a standard-slot Pistol mod with Naramon polarity, base drain 6, and maximum rank 3. Ranking increases both recoil reduction and magazine penalty, so account for the paired effects at each step. It is incompatible with Full Capacity and Loose Magazine.
Related Conclave options
Full Capacity increases magazine capacity but reduces Reload Speed; Loose Magazine increases Reload Speed but increases recoil. They make different tradeoffs and cannot be equipped with Hydraulic Barrel because they are explicitly listed as incompatible. Accelerated Isotope is a Standard Pistol mod with Radiation and Fire Rate bonuses, not a Conclave handling alternative.
