Understand Investigator
Useful when…
- Have Helios scan objects and enemies within the stated range and scan time.
- Use it when automatic scanning is useful and Codex Scanner charge consumption is acceptable.
Range, scan time, and charges
At rank 0, Investigator scans within 20 metres over 5 seconds. Rank 3 raises the range to 38 metres and shortens scan time to 3.2 seconds; rank 5 reaches 50 metres over 2 seconds. Scanning consumes Codex Scanner charges.
Equipment and rank costs
Investigator is a Helios precept with Penjaga polarity, maximum rank 5, and base drain 4. Listed fusion steps cost 10 Endo and 483 Credits from rank 0 to 1, 40 Endo and 1,932 Credits from rank 2 to 3, and 160 Endo and 7,728 Credits from rank 4 to 5.
How it differs from other Helios precepts
Targeting Receptor causes Helios to attack targets within 10 metres using three glaives. Detect Vulnerability reveals weak points on subsequent scans after research on an enemy is complete. These descriptions distinguish their attack and weak-point effects from Investigator's scanning effect.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Consumes Codex Scanner charges.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming scans do not consume Codex Scanner charges.
- Expecting Investigator to attack targets or reveal researched weak points.
