Understand Targeting Receptor
Useful when…
- Having Helios attack nearby targets
- Using a Sentinel precept focused on combat rather than scanning
Attack behavior
Targeting Receptor causes Helios to attack targets within 10 meters using glaives. At rank 0 it uses 1 glaive; at rank 2 and rank 3 it uses 3 glaives.
Fit and ranking
This is a Helios precept with Penjaga polarity, base drain 0, and maximum rank 3. Rank 2 already reaches the listed three-glaive effect, which remains the same at rank 3; decide whether the final rank is worth its additional investment for your setup.
Scanning alternatives
Investigator scans objects and enemies within 50 meters over 2 seconds and consumes Codex Scanner charges. Detect Vulnerability reveals enemy weak points on subsequent scans after research is complete. These serve scanning and information roles rather than Targeting Receptor's attack role.
Limitations and tradeoffs
- Its listed range is 10 meters, so it focuses on nearby targets.
- The listed glaive count reaches 3 at rank 2 and does not increase at rank 3.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Expecting three glaives at rank 0; that rank lists one.
- Assuming the precept scans targets or reveals weaknesses; those are different Helios precepts.
