Understand Ion Infusion

Useful when…

  • Add Electricity damage to an Archmelee weapon.
  • Increase Archmelee Status Chance alongside the elemental bonus.

Effect and equipment

At rank 0, Ion Infusion grants +15% Electricity and +15% Status Chance. At rank 2 it grants +45% to each, reaching +60% Electricity and +60% Status Chance at rank 3. It is a Rare Archmelee mod with Madurai polarity, maximum rank 3, and base drain 4.

Rank costs and sources

The listed fusion steps cost 30, 60, then 120 Endo, and 1,449, 2,898, then 5,796 Credits. The listed sources are Lektro Commander and Fomorian Sabotage; their supplied chances are 3% and 5%, respectively, and do not guarantee a drop. Consider ranking it according to how much you value both bonuses on your Archmelee weapon.

Elemental alternatives

Cryo Coating, Infectious Injection, and Searing Steel list the same +60% Status Chance at maximum rank while pairing it with Cold, Toxin, and Heat damage respectively. Choose among these elemental variants according to the element you want; the comparison descriptions do not establish that any one is universally preferable.

Limitations and tradeoffs

  • The mod is limited to Archmelee equipment.
  • Its elemental bonus is Electricity, so another listed elemental mod may better fit a different elemental choice.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Applying it to a regular melee weapon instead of Archmelee.
  • Treating its listed percentage bonuses as final weapon damage.
